Last year, after everything shut down due to the pandemic and then slowly began to reopen, my coworker turned bestie and I ventured outside for the first time in months and ate at Saffron NOLA. The restaurant is located off of the legendary Magazine Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. Magazine Street is a popular street known for its restaurants, retail stores, bars, and much more. Saffron NOLA is a beautiful restaurant. Since we visited during a pandemic the restaurant was quiet and guests were all socially distanced from one another. It was definitely a perfect spot to choose to safely enjoy ourselves.
Of course we ate, but that’s a blog post for another day because the first thing we tried we’re the cocktails! Known for their Indian cuisine and cocktails, a quick Google search showed that they had 4.4 stars which is close to a 5 and good enough to get me excited. There’s nothing like cocktails after a long day at work and months worth of only going to and from home and work day in and day out. Grabbing a drink felt like the first taste of water after having walked through a desert for three days. It felt like heaven. So what did we get?
We ordered the Junglee Bird cocktail which consisted of:
- Roasted Mango
- Passion Fruit
We also got the Pinky Up cocktail which consisted of:
- Passion Fruit
- Sparkling Rosé
The menu changes often, but I wouldn’t worry. It seems as though they have really great taste in cocktails. It’s also New Orleans. If you can’t get alcohol right can your business even last long in this city? I doubt it. They’re still here so the cocktails must be good year round. They sure were good for me. Classy drinking!
