Lunch with A.Classy: Satsuma Cafe
There’s a cafe here in New Orleans called Satsuma Cafe. The summer before starting college my sister took me to their location in the Bywater and I had their french toast. It was such a cute little cafe and it was nice to spend some time with my sister. Since then I’ve visited Satsuma a couple of times over the past 5 years. I still get the french toast, but this time I decided to try something new. It was a beautiful fall day and a good friend of mine and I decided to leave campus and grab lunch. Have you ever had one of those days where the weather is perfect and you just go somewhere and feel good inside? Everything is peaceful, you’re having a great conversation, and the food is good? The day we went to Satsuma was one of those days. It was a great day. Work and school was of no concern. This lunch was simply a moment away from the chaos.
I ordered the sandwich and a mixture of beet and apple juice.
Recently they have started bottling their juices and sadly they are no longer made fresh on the spot and therefore have a slightly different taste, but the food is still good. I would suggest their breakfast over everything else on the menu.
It was such a beautiful day I stopped on the way back to campus to take pictures.
Cheers to peaceful lunches and beautiful days.
