If you’re not new to the internet, then you probably have a lot of recipes and food videos saved on your various social media accounts with the intention to make them. To no surprise I can bet big money that they have yet to make it off the app and actually create the meal/treat you found on social media.
A few months ago, I saw a video that showed how you could add a few additional ingredients to cinnamon rolls that would make them larger and even more delicious. It looked good to me and I told myself I would try it out. I never did then, but recently while at the store I saw the can of cinnamon rolls and told myself I was going to stop living a life where I have an idea to do something and never get to it. So, I was determined to make these cinnamon rolls.
I’ll be honest and tell you that I did not make those cinnamon rolls that week or next or the one after, but baby that can is officially in the trash because I did it. Not only did I do it, but I DID THAT.
I couldn’t find the video I originally saw on TikTok so I had to just search cinnamons rolls and browsed various videos to figure out a method to make my cinnamon rolls. Here’s what I used and how to make them:
- 1 can of Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls (comes with icing)
- Brown sugar
- Stick of Butter
- Cinnamon
- Heavy cream
I made these very quickly which means I free hand everything so I don’t have any measurements, but I’m sure you can find a video of someone using measurements if you need them to feel more comfortable making them.
I opened the can of cinnamon rolls and placed them in my baking dish as you would usually do. I then poured heavy cream over the rolls and all over into the pan. I used a container from making pasta the night before so it could have been about half, so possibly a quart size amount of heavy cream. I then melted a stick of butter and then mixed cinnamon and brown sugar in a separate bowl. I poured it all over the cinnamon rolls. I covered my baking dish with foil to prevent the top of the rolls from burring. I then set my oven to 350 and placed my baking dish in the over for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes I took the foil off and let them bake for an additional 5-8 minutes.
It came out really good.
I think the next time I make it I’m just going to add the heavy cream to a bowl and add the brown sugar and cinnamon in that bowl, leave off the stick of butter, and add a little bit of white sugar. I think I overdid it with the butter as heavy cream is milk and butter. All in all, it came out really good, especially for my first time ever making cinnamon rolls. Thanks to the people on the internet for always sharing amazing recipes.
